N1.91 billion has been earmarked for sewage, fumigation

The federal government has earmarked N1.91 billion for sewage clearing and fumigation in 2017.

Punch reports that the allocation will cater for the item for various ministries and agencies in Nigeria.

Details of the expenditure are contained in the 2017 budget submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly.

On the 2017 budget, while the presidency will spend N132.47 on both items, the State House will be spending N52.83 million on sewage and its liaison office in Lagos will gulp N10 million.

Also, the office of the senior special assistant to the president on Sustainable Devlopment Goals will use N1.8 million; office of the economic adviser to the president n3.71 million; Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, N7.07 million; Bureau of Public Enterprises, N346, 400 and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, N19.5m.

Similarly, the Bureau of Public Procurement will use N3m for sewage clearing while the Nigerian Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative, N3.31m; the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, N5.6m; and the National Emergency Management Agency, N25.3m.

Meanwhile, other institutions like the Nigeria Police Force will spend N30 million to clear sewage in all its formations and command across Nigeria.

The force will also spend N20.1 million for fumigation.

The expenditure on the items also goes down to all ministries, department and agencies across the nation.
