THE POWER OF INFLUENCE


The talkshow was hosted by the founder and president of DMI, Icon Okpe James Chidi.
He defined influence as the capacity to have an effect on the character, development and behavior of someone or something.
He also explained influence to be that impact we make unconsciously by becoming that example we want to see.


He talked about becoming a good influence.
He said, "What better services can you provide someone else than being a good example to them?".
He advised the youths against bad companies because they influence them badly. He said,"Bad companies bring bad influences", "People you associate with have a lot to contribute in your character.... They either make or mar you....You either change them or they change you......and that's why you're here today, so that you can change them".

He narrated a story of how he was intimidated and almost joined secret cult in his university days; but due to the influence from his friends he was able to overcome that temptation.

He also advised the youths to work on themselves so as to be able to influence their environment and the world in general. He said, "Pray to God that your influence will not stop in Orlu, that the world will be your stage", "That you will plant greener pastures and not seek for greener pastures".

He outlined things they must work on in order to influence their generation. He said, "Work on your character, so that you can attract people that will lead you to the top".
